Today marks the 1 year anniversary since I started Next Consulting, here are 8 lessons I learned this year.
1. Leadership is the key to success.
Leadership is not free, it takes hard work, a lot of introspection, and a lot of practice.
2. Growth happens over time in small chunks.
You don’t win the lottery with growth, that’s luck. Take small steps in the right direction. You’ll be amazed at your achievements over the year.
3. Not all opportunities are wins.
You win some, you lose some. Know this and don’t let losses take an emotional toll on you.
4. Try new things.
Doing the same things over and over expecting different results is…insanity (Einstein).
New things help you discover hidden strengths.
5. Learn from…everything.
Just observe everything around you, from leaders, to businesses, to politics. What are they doing right? What are they doing wrong?
6. Be humble.
It’s not about you, it’s about the end goal of impacting lives.
7. Don’t sell yourself short.
Don’t keep your skills hidden. Nobody can use what they don’t know that you have.
