Technology Executive

He also led as a Chief Technology Officer at a FinTech where he led a team to develop local commerce applications, cryptocurrency and card integrations. He currently holds two patents from work at Motorola Solutions in the Chief Technology Office, with another in process.

Technology was his passion from an early age, and earned his Computer Engineering degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, prior that he pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (#2 program at the time, rival to MIT).

Medical Pursuits

For a period he focused on becoming a Physician and worked on his pre-medical degree at East Carolina University, where he volunteered, shadowed, and developed an application for veteran patients with vestibular systems disorder. The pursuit in healthcare trained him to view the world from different viewpoints, and Mic believes that the systems in the cell and body are fare more complex than anything humanity has built. This is foundational in his pursuit of excellence, innovation, and solving complex problems.

It started with Engineering

He started his post-college life as a software engineer at Motorola working on Public Safety technology in repeaters (cell towers) and commercial two-way radios on the MOTOTRBO platform.

While at ECU, he developed applications for the Physical Therapy Department at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina in addition to working in the Biomedical engineering lab working with technologies to transition stem cells into heart cells.

He considers himself as a creative, a problem solver, architect and designer, and an inventor, and has a passion for coffee, food, and photography. However, his highest achievements are his faith and his children.

Giving back

The heart of Mic’s mission is to help others find the path towards success and value. He is implementing the foundations for a non-profit, Next Hope, to bring education and spiritual resources to underserved groups. Additionally, he leads leadership success groups with Lead Next.

Mic’s favorite quote:

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather of value. He is considered successful in our day who gets more out of life than he puts in. But a man of value will give more than he receives.”
